Catfishing: Coined from the 2010 documentary “Catfish”, “Catfishing” refers to deceptive activity involving a person creating a fake social networking presence for nefarious purposes.
Ghosting: Ghosting is a move you make when you’re too big a wuss to end things with the person you’ve been dating with actual words. Instead, you completely stop all forms of communication– no texts, phone calls or meetups– totally and utterly out of the blue.
Orbiting: A Dater who distances themselves from you but still remain in the background. For example, someone ends a relationship with you. You’re unsure if you’re on or off. Everytime you post on social media, he “likes” you.
Pocketing: “Pocketing” is when the person you are dating appears to be keeping you on the backburner and is in no hurry to commit.
Cookie Jarring: Cookie Jarring occurs when someone wants to have their cake and eat it too. He gets backup dates lined up in case something goes wrong with the first date.
Prowling: Someone who ghosts you and then reappears on the scene when it suits them. A Prowler is someone who toys with your emotions and is on the hunt for you and just as quickly disappears.
